Saudi Arabia has signed an agreement to protect the country’s historic and cultural heritage sites and natural monuments. The agreement was signed with the Diryah Gate Development Authority and the Saudi National Committee of the International Council on Monuments and Lands.
This agreement will enhance the level of coordination and cooperation between the Directorate Development Authority (DGDA) and the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) Committees.
The two groups will conduct specialized scientific research in areas of cultural significance of the DIA and formulate joint recommendations to preserve the values and features of the sites. The MoU was signed by Jerry Inserillo, Chief Executive Officer of the DGDA and Princess Dr. Nouf bint Mohammed bin Fahad, President of the Saudi ICOMOS.
